The shelf

Two apps so far.

No. 01 — Screen translator

Lingveil

Your screen, in your language.

Press a shortcut and every label, message and paragraph on screen is repainted in your language, in the same spot, with the app’s own colors and type.

  • Stays translated while you scroll
  • Translate one area, or keep it live for subtitles and chats
  • Google with no key, local models, or Apple’s built-in translation
brew install --cask aaditya-v-more/tap/lingveil

Version 0.1.1 for macOS 15 or later
Version 0.1.0 for Windows 10 and 11

Opening it the first time

Mac: Lingveil isn’t notarized yet, so macOS refuses it the first time. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway (Homebrew installs skip this). Then allow Screen Recording when asked; that’s how it reads the screen.

Windows: if SmartScreen warns you, choose More info, then Run anyway.

No. 02 — Read-aloud

Earmark

Your books, read out loud.

Open an EPUB, PDF or text file and press Space. The sentence being read is shaded, the spoken word stands out, and the page follows along.

  • Under 1 MB, opens in under a second
  • Remembers your place in every book
  • Web serials, a sleep timer and audio export
brew install --cask aaditya-v-more/tap/earmark

Version 0.8.1 · macOS 14 or later · Apple silicon and Intel

Opening it the first time

Earmark isn’t notarized yet, so macOS refuses it the first time. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway; on macOS 14 you can also right-click it and choose Open. Homebrew installs skip this step.
